Hello, I've decided to make an account just for my photography since I love taking photos so much but I didn't want to drown my other gallery with them! So this is 'Shashin Kitsune' or 'hoto Fox'. (So I'll only have photo-related favorites and such here.)
My main account for my other artistic pursuits is

I've taken several photo classes over the years and enjoy taking pictures of all kinds of things. When I was still in school I experimented more with black and white and darkroom manipulations but now I'm focusing more on composition and just taking nice shots of things I find interesting and beautiful since the darkroom is no longer really an option.
I enjoy things like textures and natural/organic shapes as well as interesting composition and angles. I tend take what is probably considered more straightforward traditional photos.
Its kind of hard to sum up what photography as an art is to me, its so many things. Its about sharing something I've seen, and just having fun.

My main camera is a Nikon N65 but I recently finally got into the digital world with a Canon A720 IS which I am quite happy with. The camera I learned on in high school was a fully manual ancient Yashika that had belonged to my dad (whee older than me!), though unfortunately the light meter was no longer very accurate so I don't use it anymore.

I sometimes do some touch-ups for things like balance and cropping in Photoshop, though not always. If I do much more than that I'll make a note of it. I'm still learning how to best use Photoshop to make photos really stand out so I don't have much experience in that area.

I plan to feature some of my favorite photographs here and have a fuller gallery on Flickr. So go there if you'd like to see more
